My work is a personal examination of the themes we encounter in everyday human interaction. In particular, I explore the complex impact each of us makes on society over a lifetime. Once I choose a subject I internalize its essence, tasting it, chewing it, and digesting it. This inhabitation of my subject, along with technical approaches such as color, texture, and composition, merge into my expression of the subject’s universal voice. The subjects themselves are from personal observations, reinterpreted within my mindscape. Though the figures in my paintings remain anonymous, functioning as abstract symbols, they represent the interplay between various aspects of human behavior. Through them I endeavor to reach out through allegory and demonstrate the intellectual, emotional, and moral implications of choice.
